Three factors that led Continental to Lithuania
While combing Europe for their new potential base, Continental was pleasantly surprised by not only the enthusiasm of local specialists, but also with the speed and efficiency of which assigned tasks were completed. As the companies work closely with the government and educational institutions, everyone involved has a vested interest in coming up with dynamic approaches and solutions daily.
While there were many possible points in Europe to begin working in, Continental was wary of certain spots due to regional, economic or political instability. After arriving in Lithuania, the supportive work environments and attention to detail were a key factor in keeping Continental here.
Each year Lithuania is turning into a more popular destination for automotive companies to invest in. As a result of this, product pickups will be made much easier for foreign clients as more facilities open over the next few years.

Hella naturally looks for skilled and motivated engineers to install their semi or fully automated production lines. As Kaunas is already known for their talented engineers and with the Kaunas University of Technology assisting them in procuring local manpower, the search for qualified employees should prove to be a quick and fruitful one.

Hella was looking for a developed and politically stable country. Lithuania, being a member of the EU, NATO and the Eurozone, perfectly complies with the required criteria. As well as having a well developed road infrastructure, Lithuania also has air and sea routes that are vital to Hella’s component deliveries from Asia.
The final decision to build a factory in Lithuania was adopted in January 2017. And here we are: already building it in October of the same year!

People say that deals are arranged and affairs are conducted very quickly in China, but I can say that in Lithuania these things are done much faster.
