Philip Morris International was the first major international investor in the restored independent Republic of Lithuania, and has been operating in the country since 1993.

As one of the largest investors in both Klaipeda region and Lithuania, and with more than 600 employees, Philip Morris Lietuva has created a fully functioning ecosystem around the factory which ensures work for hundreds more specialists through supply, storage, logistics and the other services it purchases. Since beginning its operations, Philip Morris International has invested in total 310 million EUR into its Klaipeda factory.

In 2018, Philip Morris Lietuva celebrated its 25th anniversary. The company exports the products made in its Klaipeda plant globally and is also one of the largest exporters to Japan. Japanese consumers have very high expectations when it comes to the quality of tobacco products – if not the highest in the world. And this quality is guaranteed by the Klaipeda factory. The company credits the skills and commitment of the local employees as key to its expansion and success.
