A Monaco based company GRH International has established a new company in Klaipėda’s Free Economic Zone
GRH International has been developing technology to enable the production of sustainable and innovative materials for the construction market. The new company GRH LT is committed to taking this development further and to introducing new multi-layered composite panels for the building industry. It plans to employ up to 50 people for various R&D, production and administrative functions.
According to Jacqueline Thormities, managing director of GRH LT, “We believe that a company is only as good as its people. In order to create a new product that is capable of disrupting the current status quo in the market, having innovative and passionate people is essential. That’s what we found here in Lithuania. We are really impressed by the people in Lithuania with their level of education and training but above all with their professionalism and enthusiasm.”
“After conducting a multi-country in-depth search for a location for a manufacturing facility, we were excited to choose Lithuania. In fact, we were so impressed by the quality of the workforce and by the favorable business environment in Lithuania, that we decided to open more than a manufacturing facility. We have decided to establish all operations in Lithuania, including R&D.”
“The amazing support that we received from Invest Lithuania and Klaipeda FEZ cannot be overlooked, these were the final factors that locked in our selection of Lithuania.”
The company’s director of R&D, Ludovic Broquaire was especially impressed with the quality of engineers in Lithuania, “I am excited to work in an environment where the engineering community is so strong and developed. We’re looking forward to building a great team here in Lithuania.”
GRH LT is planning to export its products to Scandinavia, United Kingdom and other foreign markets for which Klaipeda’s strategic location and its port are of great value.
Eimantas Kiudulas, the CEO of Klaipeda FEZ, says that GRH LT is a perfect fit for the zone as it combines novelty manufacturing, global exports, and on-site R&D.
“We are also proud to see GRH LT enjoying and benefiting from our FlexStart premises. Also, Klaipeda already had the most FDI manufacturing companies with R&D and excellence centers in the country, and so GRH’s move further strengthens Klaipeda’s position as the regional hub for high value-added industrial operations.”
“GRH LT’s decision to move to Klaipėda and immediately establish both the production unit and R&D is quite unique. In many cases, foreign capital companies create R&D centers in a well-known environment. Such decisions show the tremendous trust in Lithuanian engineers and the country’s value for knowledge-intensive projects”, says Mantas Katinas Managing Director of Invest Lithuania.
UAB GRH LT has signed a contract with the Lithuanian Business Support Agency (LBSA) for the project “Research for the Development of Innovative and Sustainable Construction Solutions” and according to the company’s director “ This is just one more way that Lithuania is supporting business development and innovation. We are happy to have the support of the LVPA. GRH LT is looking forward to building a strong presence here in Lithuania.”
