German IT services powerhouse GOD expands to Lithuania

January 13, 2022

German IT industry veterans GOD have announced establishing new teams in Vilnius and Kaunas, respectively Lithuania’s capital and second-largest city. The company has already started its recruitment process, with plans to hire up to 200 specialists in the coming three years. Known in its home market for developing complex solutions for large corporates, GOD is hiring across a wide range of positions, including JAVA developers, DevOps engineers, Cloud specialists, and Linux administrators.

Established in 1985 in the north-central German city of Braunschweig, GOD is a full-service IT provider serving all phases of the software lifecycle. Seeing customer-centricity as its core value, the company develops and implements solutions using the latest improvements in cloud computing, IoT, Robotic Process Automation and AI.

According to Vilma Khmaladze, CEO of GOD Lithuania, expansion to Lithuania has been on the company’s mind for quite some time.

We thrive thanks to our ability to discover the hidden potential in everybody. And Lithuania is definitely a hidden gem that has it all, including a high level of talent, a flourishing IT scene and strong government support for high value-added businesses.

In Lithuania, GOD decided to operate from two locations – the capital Vilnius and the country’s second-largest city Kaunas. These two cities host the majority of the country’s tech companies, and are home to major tech universities including Kaunas University of Technology and Vilnius Tech. As the cities are less than 100 kilometers apart, employees will be able to easily visit and work from either office.

“Across all our branches, we pay special attention to work-life balance. Our new team members can expect a flexible work model and 30 days of paid annual paid leave. In addition to that, we help our colleagues in their professional journey, offering everything from workshops to language courses. As we primarily work with the German market, our new hires will be more than welcome to improve their German language skills with us,” adds V. Khmaladze.

The positions GOD is looking to fill reflect the full-scale nature of the company. The Lithuanian branch has vacancies for front-end developers, Linux and Cloud administrators, JAVA and Angular developers, DevOps infrastructure specialists and other IT and non-IT professionals.

“It is my pleasure to welcome GOD to the thriving Lithuanian IT sector. Their decision to open offices in two cities at once shows that talent in Lithuania is not concentrated in one spot, and the proximity and strength of technical universities will surely help the company in their hiring process,” states Elijus Čivilis, General Manager of Invest Lithuania.

GOD currently employs over 500 specialists across offices in Germany, Poland and Lithuania. In 2020, the company posted revenues of €53 million. The majority of GOD’s clients are based in the DACH region. In its home market, the company has received the Top Employer in Medium Companies title, awarded by Yourfirm.de in 2021.
