Yara International, the world’s leading fertilizer company, has announced plans to expand its European Business Services (Yara EBS) in Vilnius. The company expects to add 130 finance specialists to its Lithuanian team over the next years.
Headquartered in Oslo, Yara opened its office in Lithuania in 2018. Yara EBS currently provides end-to-end logistics services to the company’s European operations. It also supports the company globally by harnessing the benefits of data analytics and developing new Business Intelligence (BI) solutions.
Today, Yara EBS employs over 360 specialists managing Operational Planning, Export Coordination, Customer Service, Transport Coordination, Indirect Procurement, Business Intelligence and Robotics fields.
Yara EBS is now set to expand even further with the creation of a finance operations hub and the recruitment of 130 finance specialists until end of 2022.
„Customer service and transport management are critical functions for Yara’s daily operations. We see the benefits of concentrating these activities in such a dynamic place as Vilnius. Hence, when assessing the set-up of Finance Operations for Europe, we decided to continue building our European Business Services. I am confident that establishing a finance operations hub in Vilnius will prove an excellent choice and am looking forward to welcoming new talents in the Lithuanian team,” says Lars Enge, CFO of Yara Europe.
“The expansion of Yara’s European Business Services in Vilnius reaffirms that it is a valued partner that delivers results,” says Elijus Čivilis, General Manager of Invest Lithuania. “It’s a sign of the ever-growing maturity and diversity of Lithuania’s GBS sector and another seal of approval on the quality of the country’s talent pool.”
Founded in 1905 to solve the emerging famine in Europe, Yara has established a unique position as the industry’s only global crop nutrition company. The company operates an integrated business model with around 17,000 employees and operations in over 60 countries. In 2020, Yara reported revenues of USD 11.6 billion.
