On Tuesday, Pon.Bike, one of the leading players in the global bicycle industry opened its new bicycle manufacturing facility in Lithuania. Lithuania’s Minister of Economy and Innovation and the Minister of Transport and Communications attended the opening ceremony of the factory within the Kėdainiai FEZ (Free Economic Zone). The sustainable building, spanning 40.000 square metres, houses bicycle assembly lines, painting facilities, a warehouse, and administrative premises.
The Pon.Bike bicycle factory is one of the largest investments in the Kėdainiai FEZ to date. This foreign direct investment project has been granted the status of a major investment project by the Ministry of Economy and Innovation.
The Kėdainiai factory is the seventh and most advanced Pon.Bike production facility to date, meeting the highest standards of sustainability and clean production. The company has other factories operating in the Netherlands, Germany, the USA, and Brazil.
Kėdainiai will manufacture bikes for a wide variety of Pon.Bike brands. The majority of bikes built here will be e-bikes, considered the future of the market.
