Minister of the Economy and Innovation, Lukas Savickas, has officially inaugurated a laser processing applications laboratory established by the Lithuanian company Light Conversion in California. The company is expanding its operations in the United States and setting up in Silicon Valley – one of the world’s foremost technology hubs.
During the visit, the Minister discussed Light Conversion’s expansion plans with the leadership of the U.S. branch, exploring opportunities to strengthen cooperation with local industry players and enhance business competitiveness both in the domestic and international markets.
The new Light Conversion laboratory, located in Silicon Valley, California, will develop and test advanced laser processing solutions for the semiconductor, electronics, medical devices, and other high value-added product industries. The technologies implemented in the lab will allow industrial clients to test laser system applications under real-life conditions and accelerate their integration into manufacturing processes.
This new division complements Light Conversion-USA, the company’s Montana-based office operating since 2006, further strengthening its position in one of its key export markets – the United States.
Light Conversion is one of the global leaders in the field of ultrafast lasers. Over 9,000 of its laser systems are used by scientific and industrial clients worldwide, including all of the world’s top 50 universities – such as Harvard, MIT, Yale, Columbia, and others.
