Itransition to establish a development and delivery centre in Vilnius

March 09, 2021

Itransition, a software services provider with the network of delivery/development centres across the US and Europe, has announced plans to open a software development and delivery centre in Vilnius. The company is looking to hire up to 30 developers and other IT specialists in the near future.

Itransition was born in 1998, when ten IT engineers established the company’s first development centre in Belarus, followed by representative offices in the US and the UK, that quickly turned into their US and European headquarters. Today, Itransition is one of the leading software services companies in the world, employing more than 2,200 specialists across 10 development centres globally. To support the company’s continuous growth, Itransition is seeking to expand its presence in Europe. Opening a development centre in Lithuania is a key step in this endeavour.

“Expanding our portfolio of European clients is one of our strategic objectives,” says Yaroslav Myakotkin, Director of Itransition’s Lithuanian office. “The opening of the new Vilnius office will help us strengthen the connection with our current and facilitate the acquisition of new EU-based customers.”

When selecting a new European location, Itransition’s main criteria were the proximity to current clients and their main development centre in Belarus, as well as a favourable business environment for IT companies. According to Mr. Myakotkin, Lithuania was the best fit because of the overall ease of doing business in the country as well as the physical and cultural closeness to Belarus.

“Vilnius is an EU capital with a vivid IT community” explains Mr. Myakotkin. “Lithuania also offers the best incentives for investment in the Baltic region and a competitive tax regime. The support we received from Invest Lithuania and the recent relocation-friendly legislative initiatives also played a role in our decision.”

Itransition’s development and delivery centre in Vilnius will carry out full-cycle software development, DevOps, QA, and sales/account management functions.

“In the foreseeable future, we plan to grow our Vilnius team up to 30 people,” says Mr. Myakokin. “We are happy to work with developers, project managers, business analysts, and QA engineers of senior, middle, or junior levels.”

In Lithuania, Itransition is looking to apply its extensive experience in developing university partnerships and organizing reskilling and upskilling courses for those who want to enter the IT industry. The company hopes to build relationships with both the vibrant Belarusian community in Lithuania and the country’s leading technology universities.

According to Mantas Katinas, Managing Director at Invest Lithuania, Itransition is joining a growing tech ecosystem that, along with Lithuania’s extensive IT talent pool, will amplify the company’s innovation potential. “Forward-thinking Lithuanian technology specialists will not only meet the needs of Itransition’s clients but also help to further develop the company’s domain expertise,” Mr. Katinas believes.

Itransition is a global provider of digital solutions and IT services with development and delivery centres across Europe and the US. The company covers the entire product development lifecycle: consulting, conceptualization, design and prototyping, development, testing, maintenance and support. With 1,500 projects in its portfolio, Itransition serves over 800 clients in more than 30 countries. The company’s customer list includes Mercedes-Benz, Philips, Toyota, adidas, Xerox, PayPal, eBay, Expedia, and BP.
