As the country’s business services and outsourcing sector takes off, investment development agency Invest Lithuania has launched a new two minute video that captures the essence of what makes Lithuania such an attractive SSC location.
With global players such as Nasdaq, AIG, Barclays, Western Union, Danske, Swedbank, Intermedix and many others establishing or expanding operations in Lithuania, the country’s SSC sector has witnessed an 82 per cent rise since 2010. Lithuania’s SSC success is built on two fundamental values; top talent and smart infrastructure. With education levels ranked 3rd in the EU, the country boasts a rich talent pool able to serve client bases in 30 different languages. This talent, combined with EU-leading ICT infrastructure, has made Lithuania the hottest SSC destination in the CEE region.
Lithuania’s capital Vilnius was named ‘best destination’ at this year’s CEE Shared Services and Outsourcing Awards, whilst second city Kaunas won in the ‘best emerging city’ category. This success has not affected saturation levels, which remain impressively low compared to its neighbours. Whilst 16 out of every ten thousand inhabitants in Krakow work in SSCs, the figure in Vilnius stands at 10 and in Kaunas just 2.
In the new video, managers and employees from some of the biggest global companies operating from Lithuania share their insights on the many reasons behind the country’s success. Hear what they have to say:
