Europe’s leading kitchen manufacturer to open Global Business Services Centre in Lithuania

February 02, 2022

Nobia, one of Europe’s leading kitchen specialists, has announced plans to establish a Global Business Services Centre (GBS) in Vilnius, Lithuania. The GBS office will open during the first half of 2022.

Headquartered in Stockholm, Nobia designs and manufactures highly functional and sustainable kitchens. With operations spanning from product development, sourcing, manufacturing to installation, Nobia’s control of the entire value chain allows the company to optimise production and stay on-brand. Nobia ranks 4th in the “Consumer Goods” category in Sweden’s annual “Sustainable Companies” ranking (Hållbara Bolag 2020).

Today, Nobia comprises many strong, local kitchen brands that leverage the benefits of working together. From first inspirational sketch to installation, we are driven by the ambition to lead the industry in design and sustainability.
Jon Sintorn, President and CEO of Nobia

Having actively engaged with a dedicated team of consultants at Invest Lithuania, Nobia decided to establish their GBS centre in Lithuania.

“Our main criteria’s during the searching for the optimal location were competence, talent availability and flexibility. We also care about openness and passion for innovation. Lithuania has a proven track record for Global Business Services centres”, Sintorn explains.

Jon Sintorn met Gitanas Nausėda, the President of the Republic of Lithuania, during the latter’s Sweden visit. This meeting further strengthened Nobia’s positive view of doing business in Lithuania.

Jon Sintorn claims that Lithuania bested other considered locations on three main fronts: financial, talent acquisition & retention, and ease of doing business. “Our new Lithuanian entity will be instrumental in supporting our roll-out of major transformation initiatives, without having to consume all the local resources that are engaged in our day-to-day business across Europe”, he says.

Lithuania’s President Gitanas Nausėda also congratulates Nobia’s choice. “A strong focus on innovation and human capital development are key elements of our country’s economic policy. And we never stop – we are on the way to make Lithuania an even more attractive business destination. I welcome Nobia’s decision to choose Lithuania for their Global Business Services centre”, President Gitanas Nausėda said.

Nobia develops and manufactures kitchen solutions in 14 production facilities across 7 European countries and employs nearly 6,000 employees. With over 10,000 kitchens delivered every week, the company is one of Europe’s largest kitchen manufacturers.

“With a strong foundation in terms of talent pool and its development, infrastructure and business environment, Lithuania is one of the most dynamic global business services locations in the region”, says Elijus Čivilis, General Manager of Invest Lithuania. “Capable of supporting truly complex business services, the country is going to be a strong partner to Nobia in its growth journey”.
