Starting today, industry leaders from the Global Business Services (GBS) sector have already started congregating in Vilnius for the Autumn Edition of the biannual European Shared Services and Outsourcing Week. Several hundred industry insiders are expected at the event, which runs from Tuesday September 11th through to Thursday September 13th and features a wide range of speaker sessions, workshops, networking opportunities and site visits.
The event provides managers working in the GBS industry with an opportunity to dig deep into some of the latest trends and biggest challenges in the industry. How do you engage, retain and motivate your millennial talents? What strategies can you employ to nurture your company’s future leaders? How can you automatize the mundane tasks to allow your team to focus on more rewarding activities? What added value can you gain from data analytics?
All these topics and more will be on the table over the course of this action-packed event. It all kicks off on Tuesday with the SSON Roadtrip, where participants will be taken on a guided tour of two of Vilnius’ award winning shared services centres, those of Danske Bank and Western Union. There is also a workshop program on Tuesday, covering a range of topics including robotic process automation (RPA).
Wednesday’s agenda includes key note speakers from AstraZeneca, Warner Bros, Danske and P&G, followed by challenge-based discussion groups. Then participants select a specific track of sessions based on either leadership, finance or HR. Thursday features panel discussions, speakers from Adidas and BT, a debate on the role of outsourcing in the sector, and, finally, a chance to vote for SSO Award winners. In terms of networking, there are specific activities throughout each day dedicated to networking, plus the Wednesday evening drinks reception.
And all of this is taking place in one of Europe’s most exciting GBS destinations. Vilnius has been named the Most Dynamically Developing City in the CEE region for four consecutive years. Lithuania’s shared services ecosystem now includes over 70 centres, the vast majority of which are multifunctional. The likes of Nasdaq, Cognizant, Booking.com and Swedbank are all profiting from Vilnius’ talent-rich business environment. And the Autumn Edition of the biannual European Shared Services and Outsourcing Week is the ideal opportunity to get a flavour of what the Lithuanian capital has to offer.
