Booking.com Opening Customer Service Call Centre in Vilnius

December 04, 2017

Booking.com, the global leader in connecting travellers with the widest selection of great places to stay, announced today that the company will open its first customer call centre in the Baltic Region in April 2018, located in Vilnius. The newest Booking.com call centre aims to recruit around 200 people by the end of 2018, with a goal of hiring up to 900 people within the next four to five years.

Booking.com’s Vilnius call centre is the company’s ninth in Europe and eighteenth globally. The Vilnius customer service team will support Booking.com’s 24/7 service to guests and accommodation partners through a variety of channels, including incoming calls, e-mails and messaging. Booking.com has 7,000+ customer service agents globally through its local entities.

The open positions include operational management roles, as well as front-line customer service executive positions to work with our customers around the world, providing service in a variety of languages including Russian, German, English, Polish, Estonian and of course, Lithuanian. Applicants are invited to apply directly to www.workingatbooking.com.

“Vilnius is emerging as a real regional capital in Europe, truly embodying the multinational culture that exists at Booking.com,” said James Waters, Global Director of Customer Service at Booking.com. “There is a rich pool of talent in Vilnius, particularly with the linguistic skill sets that we’re looking for. As such, we are looking forward to continuing to expand our employee base throughout the Baltics.”

To select the right location for the new customer service call centre. Booking.com teamed up with Invest Lithuania, a team of experienced business advisors assisting global businesses to expand into Vilnius.

“Invest Lithuania was delighted to work with Booking.com throughout the process of choosing Vilnius for its new customer service centre, and we welcome this truly global company to our business community,” said Mantas Katinas, Managing Director of Invest Lithuania. “We are excited that Booking.com recognised the benefits of locating in Vilnius – the main benefit being access to this region’s talented workforce. We are a dynamic, multicultural region with a rich heritage and a large portion of our population speaking multiple languages.”

Booking.com’s new customer service facility will be located in the premises of Technopolis in Vilnius – the largest office city in the country.

“We congratulate a new member of our community and are happy to contribute to the expansion of the company’s customer service centres here in Lithuania. The most important goal for us as the office developer is to ensure the best infrastructure and flexibility for the successful growth of companies like Booking.com,” said Lina Maskoliūnė, the Business Unit Director of Technopolis in Vilnius.

The 3,940-square-metre customer service facility in a brand new building at Technopolis Penta building covers two floors and is the first of its kind in the Baltics for one of the world’s largest travel e-commerce companies and digital technology leader. The office theme, created by architect Arnold Schoordijk from ATC Schoordijk Interieurontwerp, a global architecture, design, and planning firm, draws on different elements of Lithuanian culture, history and nature for inspiration. Quotes from Lithuanian writers will feature throughout the office while colours and artwork inspired by the country’s forests and seas as well as the artistic area of Uzupis in Vilnius, will be used in meeting rooms and team areas. Coffee and relaxation spaces will use wood, reminiscent of traditional Lithuanian houses, to create a warm, collaborative and inclusive atmosphere.
