Accenture plans to open ICT centre in Lithuania

June 11, 2021

Global professional services company Accenture has announced plans to establish a new ICT service centre (Advanced Technology Center) in Lithuania’s capital, Vilnius. The centre will open later in 2021 with the recruitment of a few dozen employees. Steep growth is envisioned, with Accenture’s staff in Vilnius expected to grow to a couple of hundred over the next few years.

The new Vilnius office marks a significant expansion for Accenture’s operations in the  Baltic states, which began in 2002 with the opening of an advanced technology centre in Latvia, where Accenture is one of the largest company providing end-to-end technology and business services, employing a staff of more than 1,800 IT professionals.

The center will focus on developing and delivering a wide range of cross-industry technology solutions across leading technology platforms, as well as custom engineering, infrastructure and cloud services to clients across the globe. To do so, the center leverages innovative delivery models, agile development and automation capabilities.

Accenture will focus on recruiting from the country’s large pool of skilled talent, with a particular emphasis on strong system integration skills and custom software development based on Java, .NET, and SAP. Training will also play a key role in the company’s recruitment in the Baltics to provide professionals with the right skills to help clients address changing market conditions.

In choosing Lithuania, Accenture becomes the latest in a string of big names to establish operations in the country, including Oracle, Moody’s, Nasdaq, and Western Union.

„With a focus on the latest digital technologies and platforms, the new Advanced Technology Center in Lithuania will allow us to serve as a catalyst for growth and innovation our clients. Accenture’s long-term growth strategy in Lithuania will involve close collaboration with the Lithuanian technology and business ecosystem. This includes working with local universities and technical schools to contribute to the development of local technology talent.“ Accenture Lead in Latvia, Maksims Jegorovs says, explaining the company‘s decision.

Thanks to the tenacity of its talent, Lithuania remains at the forefront of technology in the region. We believe Accenture’s decision will inspire other major international companies to discover Lithuania’s potential in the field of IT.”
