Nortal to scale Lithuanian presence with 70 engineering roles

October 08, 2025

Nortal, a global digital transformation company, has announced plans to expand its Lithuanian operations and grow its team there to 200 employees by 2027. The expansion will focus on AI-enabled engineering and defence sector capabilities, with teams growing in both Vilnius and Kaunas and other locations.

The Estonian-headquartered company has been operating in Lithuania for 20 years and forms part of a 2,700-strong global workforce. Nortal has 30 offices across the world, providing digital transformation services to businesses, governments, and healthcare institutions, with Lithuanian teams contributing to projects across multiple continents.

The expansion builds on Nortal’s track record of delivering complex projects from Lithuania to Fortune 500 companies and large enterprises in North America, Germany, and the Nordic region. More than half of the Lithuanian team members hold senior or team lead positions, reflecting the maturity and expertise of the local operation.

Nortal Lithuania has consistently delivered large-scale projects for leading clients across North America, Europe, and the Middle East. What makes us strong is our ability to blend talent from different locations and operate like an orchestra: coordinated, powerful, and delivering tangible results. We're not just growing for the sake of it – our plan is to scale smartly, expanding the Lithuanian team into areas where we can create the most impact globally.
Andrius Šimėnas, Head of Delivery at Nortal Lithuania.

The company’s recruitment focus will center on AI-enabled engineering professionals, with opportunities to apply their skills in defense-related projects, building on Nortal’s early adoption of AI-enabled development practices. The expansion aligns with Nortal’s growing presence in the United States and the increased focus of its Estonian, German, and UK branches on the defence sector, with Lithuanian engineering talent contributing to these strategic initiatives.

Nortal's decision to grow their Lithuanian workforce with a focus on AI and defence capabilities demonstrates our country's evolution as a tech hub. This investment reinforces Lithuania's position as a location where companies can build advanced engineering teams capable of serving the most demanding global clients.
Edvinas Grikšas, Minister of the Economy and Innovation
Twenty years of growth tells a compelling story about Lithuania's tech ecosystem. Nortal's expansion into AI-enabled engineering and defence technologies shows that established players see Lithuania not just as a delivery center, but as a strategic location for developing cutting-edge capabilities that serve Fortune 500 companies and govtech worldwide.
