Nasdaq (Nasdaq: NDAQ), one of the world’s leading exchange and technology companies, is expanding its headcount in Vilnius by adding an additional 100 technology employees. Nasdaq’s Global Technology and Business Services staff in Vilnius are part of a worldwide team who are responsible for the development and deployment of technologies that power over 130 marketplaces worldwide. The ongoing expansion of Nasdaq’s Vilnius office will continue to bolster the company’s global footprint, add further value to clients around the world and expand career opportunities for highly skilled and diverse talents in technology and finance working in Lithuania.
Since launching its Vilnius office in 2015, Nasdaq has expanded its employee base from 30 to 390 employees over five years, making the Vilnius office Nasdaq’s second largest office in Europe and third largest globally.
According to Arminta Saladžienė, Vice President at Nasdaq and Vilnius Site Lead, Nasdaq’s rapid and continuous expansion in Lithuania has been driven by the advantages the country’s technology and business services sectors have to offer.
“Vilnius has two main features that are essential for global business services: a well-developed infrastructure and a robust pool of highly skilled technology and finance professionals. This combination has really escalated our ability to scale and expand the services and technologies we provide globally from our Vilnius tech hub. During this next phase of our expansion, we will focus on further consolidating and reinforcing our strength in core competencies such as data analytics, technology development, cybersecurity and cloud operations,” explains Saladžienė.
The Vilnius team of Nasdaq’s Global Technology unit are integral to developing, testing and delivering state-of-the-art technology which powers trading venues, clearinghouses, CSDs and corporates around the world. Several growth and development areas of Nasdaq’s Vilnius hub will include software development, quality assurance (QA), cloud engineering, cyber security, business & data analysis, Market Technology client success.

According to Mantas Katinas, the managing director of Invest Lithuania, Nasdaq’s decision to expand its team in Lithuania demonstrates the crucial role the Vilnius office plays in delivering technology and market services to Nasdaq’s clients.
