Nasdaq (Nasdaq: NDAQ), announces that the world’s leading exchange operator and capital markets technology provider Nasdaq group has positively assessed the first phase of the Technology and Business Support Competence Center development in Vilnius and decided to expand further. Over the next 2-to-3 years Nasdaq plans to recruit about 200 new employees in Vilnius.
The first specialist started his career at the Nasdaq Technology and Business Support Competence Center – Nasdaq Vilnius Services in February 2015. Currently 127 professionals are employed, and they are responsible for a wide range of IT, market operations, finance and accounting, multimedia, cybersecurity, and other services supporting external and internal clients of the Nasdaq group in EMEA, Americas and Asia Pacific.
Along with two capital market infrastructure companies, Nasdaq Vilnius and Central Securities Depository of Lithuania with 28 employees, currently Nasdaq employs 155 professionals in Lithuania.
“We are excited that Nasdaq’s decision to leverage the advantages of Lithuania – a well-developed infrastructure, professionalism and enthusiasm of specialists, their willingness to continuously learn and develop has proved to be successful,” – says Arminta Saladžienė, General Manager at Nasdaq Vilnius Services. “During the second expansion phase we will be looking for talents in IT, finance and accounting, market operations, research and advisory, investor relations, audit, cybersecurity, and other fields.”
At present, Nasdaq teams work in Vilnius to create, test and deliver securities trading, clearing and settlement systems, support and develop critical IT infrastructure for financial markets, operate Nasdaq stock markets in Europe, provide services to listed companies and financial institutions around the globe, perform finance and accounting and other functions. Most recently Nasdaq’s professionals employed in Vilnius have contributed to the technology projects in Germany, Turkey and Singapore.
Vilnius Technology and Business Support Competence Center has already been recognized internationally at the 4th annual Central and Eastern Europe Shared Services and Outsourcing Awards. The event organized by the Polish business portal Biznes Polska is dedicated to recognizing excellence in the sector. Nasdaq Vilnius Services was announced the winner in two categories: Most Unique Services Provider – CEE and New-Entrant SSC of the Year.
