KAYAK expands its talent base in Lithuania to support AI innovation and corporate travel planning

May 28, 2026

KAYAK, a leading travel search engine, is expanding its engineering and product teams and plans to hire additional talent across its Lithuanian operations in 2026.

The upcoming hiring round will focus primarily on software engineers, with KAYAK’s Lithuanian offices working across Java, JavaScript, React, TypeScript, C#, and Python. Many of these new hires will work on AI innovation initiatives and support the rapid growth of KAYAK for Business, the company’s corporate travel planning platform.

The decision to expand teams in Lithuania working on AI and global digital products shows that international technology companies see Lithuania as a strong engineering hub. More and more, Lithuania is where companies develop not just services, but technology products that compete globally.
Edvinas Grikšas, Minister of the Economy and Innovation

KAYAK opened the Kaunas office in 2018 and expanded to Vilnius in 2023, where the company has dedicated workspaces at Talent Garden, a tech coworking hub, and now has more than 100 employees in Lithuania.

The Lithuanian teams have played a central role in developing KAYAK’s latest AI-powered tools, including Ask AI – an industry first that lets travelers start planning their trip in a chat, while flight, hotel, and rental car results update live alongside the conversation, combining the ease of AI with the power of a traditional results page.

Lithuania is a strong talent market for smart, motivated and ambitious engineers and tech talent. Having good relationships with Kaunas University of Technology and Vytautas Magnus University has contributed to our success too.
Modestas Kapušinskas, Vice President, Technology at KAYAK
KAYAK has been building in Lithuania for years, and the decision to grow the engineering teams further here with focus on innovation shows how the role of our country evolves within global organisations. Increasingly, Lithuania is where companies choose to develop the products and technologies that define their future.
Elijus Čivilis, General Manager at Invest Lithuania
