The region offers an established and experienced production base for the key industries of food processing, agriculture, rubber and plastic production. Tauragė region is in a convenient location and offers infrastructure for direct entry to Kaliningrad (Russia). Tauragė has a well developed private industrial park which is currently home to a number of international businesses, including companies from Scandinavia and the USA. Green energy (biomass, wind power, hydro energy, and solar energy) is produced widely within the region, ensuring reduced heating costs for local businesses.
Exclusivity of the region
Tauragė district is developing with a focus on green energy. Together with Pagėgiai Municipality, it has the largest wind power plant in the Baltic States, two solar electricity parks and the second most powerful hydroenergy plant.
The largest developed private industrial park in Lithuania is established in Tauragė. More than 15 foreign companies successfully operate in this park and it creates jobs for more than 1000 local citizens.
