Research Assistant Internship

Work in Lithuania is an initiative under Invest Lithuania dedicated to encouraging highly skilled professionals living abroad to build their careers in Lithuania. We are currently looking for an ambitious and professional intern in the field of political or social sciences with an interest in research-based decision making. In this role, the selected candidate will take part in our in-house research processes contributing to the development of a case study focused on a Latin American country.

The internship is unpaid and offers flexible working hours and a hybrid work arrangement. On-site days will take place at our office located at Upės g. 23, Vilnius. The duration of the internship is 2-3 months.

You will help: 

• Conduct desk research.
• Transcribe and standardise interview data.
• Analyse interview and survey data.
• Assist the team with internal and external ad hoc tasks.

We expect candidates to possess: 

• Fluency in English
• Strong written communication skills. As part of the application process, applicants will be required to submit a proof of concept (PoC) to demonstrate their ability to articulate ideas in English clearly and concisely. This includes (but is not limited to) essays, critical analyses, or research papers completed for coursework.
• The capability to translate findings into well-articulated written outputs.
• Strong verbal communication skills for presenting ideas clearly and persuasively.
• Critical thinking and the ability to take initiative.
• Proficiency in computer literacy.
• A working knowledge of Spanish (while not mandatory, it would significantly enhance effectiveness in conducting desk research).
