The company’s presence in Lithuania began when several Lithuanian team members, previously based abroad, decided to return home. Rather than lose this talent, Unity chose to grow with it – establishing offices in Vilnius and Kaunas, which have steadily expanded in both size and complexity.

What made Lithuania the right fit for Unity

Unity’s initial decision to establish a presence in Lithuania was driven by a desire to tap into local talent. Over time, the many advantages the country offers have reinforced that choice. One of these is Lithuania’s geographic proximity, with quick flight connections to major European destinations. Another is its strong digital infrastructure, which includes 90% 5G coverage and some of the fastest broadband speeds in the EU.

Unity’s growth in Lithuania has also been supported by strong partnerships with local institutions and the broader tech ecosystem, which have helped make the company’s expansion journey both smoother and more strategic.

What started with a few people has grown into a team of over 130 by 2025. This growth has been driven by Lithuania’s strong pool of talent – professionals who are skilled, motivated, and passionate about technology and games. Unity has built deep local capabilities across engineering, quality assurance, and support, reflecting both the strength and versatility of the country’s tech community. 

Unity’s impact in Lithuania

As their team has grown, Unity’s Lithuanian operation has expanded into providing support across many functions. These now include Asset Store operations, engineering, customer QA, release QA, site reliability, HR operations, and more. 

Over time, this work has grown more complex and strategic. Today, local teams lead cross-functional projects and collaborate with colleagues around the world on high-impact initiatives. Unity Lithuania supports users globally and plays an integral role in the company’s core value-creating activities – contributing not only to user support but also to the development of tools that are shaping the future of the Unity engine.
